Skiers and boarders are waiting more than two hours to reserve early season access and priority reservation days.
Epic Pass holders are spending their time in an online waiting room today to reserve their days at ski resorts. More than 100,000 people are waiting for their chance to choose their early-season access days (November 6 through December 7) and up to seven priority reservation days (December 8 through April 4). Despite the long queue, the Epic Pass website states that they still have availability for every day of its core season at all of its resorts.
The Epic Pass reservation website is using a "waiting room" and email system to manage the high volume. Once you enter the room, you'll see your place in line and how many guests are being processed per hour (about 50,000). When it's your turn to reserve, you get an email with a link that you must click within 20 minutes to get your slots.
This waiting room system will last about a month, so Epic Pass holders have time to plan out their days on the mountain. The queue is expected to dwindle as the days go on, too.
Epic Pass put the new reservation system in place to control the number of skiers on the mountains each day to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines. Read up on what your favorite Colorado ski area is doing to keep guests safe here.
