CHARLOTTE ( QUEEN CITY NEWS ) — A crash has shut down NC-16 near Beatties Ford Road in northwest Charlotte Wednesday afternoon, according to NCDOT.

The accident, which involved a motorcycle, happened Wednesday, May 8, along NC-16, heading north, near Beatties Ford Road. Currently, the area is closed.

Medic confirms one person was transported to Atrium CMC with life-threatening injuries.

The expected impact on traffic is high. The area is projected to reopen by 4:45 p.m.

The cause of this serious accident remains under investigation.
