MURRAY, Ky. -- After an 0-2 week, Murray State basketball was back to work Monday afternoon inside the Racers' practice facility. The Racers now turn their attention to a rivalry matchup against southern Illinois.

Racer head coach Steve Prohm said postgame Saturday that turnovers were a major issue for his team. He reiterated that point Monday, adding that will be a big key to the game.

SIU enters the matchup forcing turnovers at the second highest rate in Missouri Valley Conference play and are tied with Drake for forcing the most turnovers in conference play.

Pair that with the Salukis coming off of their third straight win and Kennard Davis getting named the Valley's Player of the Week, Prohm knows this is an important game for the Racers.

"After this week here we'll be halfway through league play, we're right in the middle of it," Prohm said. "You got to be able to respond in this league and so just talked to the guys and showed tape earlier of things we got to do better... There's no magic story to tell them, we just got to go to work. We've got really great character in the locker room and we expect to play well this week."

The Racers and Salukis will tip off at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday night in Carbondale.
