It's an amazing day in Dallas. The Mavericks won the 2025 NBA draft lottery on Monday evening, in what is widely believed to be the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes. Coming into the night, the Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets all held the best odds at 14 percent, and all three fell outside of the top three. In all, 14 different draft slots were determined in Monday's draw, and with various pick protections and former trades to consider, a lot is at stake. Below, we'll break down how the full draft order shook out.

Flagg has been the presumptive favorite to be selected No. 1 overall for quite some time and did little to dissuade NBA evaluators of his upside this season, averaging 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from three. His two-way impact helped lead Duke to the Final Four and should immediately improve Dallas, assuming they select him as expected. There have been questions about whether Flagg is effective in late-game situations or can lead an offense at the next level. But his ability to impact the game in basically every way possible is undeniable. At No. 2, the Spurs will likely decide between the Rutgers pair of Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey, though Baylor's VJ Edgecombe could also receive consideration. Those three likely will round out the top four, unless the Sixers or Hornets go a bit rogue, while players like Oklahoma point guard Jeremiah Fears, Texas guard Tre Johnson, Maryland center Derik Queen and Duke's Kon Knueppel could be in play at No. 5.
