The league average to attend the first game of the regular season is a modest $64.33 but that figure jumps considerably in the league’s biggest markets. New York leads the list with a get-in price of $275 to watch Karl-Anthony Towns’ first game at Madison Square Garden. The defending NBA champion Boston Celtics are next on the list at $240 for their home opener against New York to open the NBA campaign.

Most Expensive NBA Home Openers To Attend In 2024-25

The New York Knicks lead all teams with a get-in price of $275 against the Indiana Pacers at Madison Square Garden on October 25th. The get-in price for the Knicks-Pacers game is 15% more expensive than the next-highest team.

The Boston Celtics are next on the list with a get-in price of $240 when they host the Knicks at TD Garden on October 22nd. After Boston, the four NBA teams based in California have the next-highest ticket prices, led by the Los Angeles Clippers ($198).

The L.A. Lakers ($179), Golden State Warriors ($126), and Sacramento Kings ($94) are next on the list of teams with the most expensive home openers in 2024.

Cheapest NBA Home Openers In 2024-25

The Utah Jazz have the cheapest ticket prices in the NBA with a get-in price of just $11 for the first home game of the season. The Charlotte Hornets ($12) aren’t far behind but the list takes an unexpected turn with the introduction of two playoff teams from a season ago.

Despite making the Western Conference Finals last year, the Oklahoma City Thunder are among the teams with the cheapest tickets for the first home game of the season. The Thunder have a get-in price of just $14 for their Oct. 27 matchup versus the Atlanta Hawks. Similarly, the New Orleans Pelicans have a get-in price of $14 for their home opener versus the Chicago Bulls.

The Hawks ($15), Houston Rockets ($15), and Detroit Pistons ($19) are among the notable teams with more expensive tickets than the Pelicans and Thunder.
