COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Today is likely the hottest day of the year so far, with high temperatures in the low-90s.

Happy Friday! High pressure remains in control across Florida, feeding us warm and moist air with a southwest wind. Even though it’s a cloudy start this morning, skies will partially clear for the afternoon, allowing broken sunshine to filter through. High temperatures will top out around 93 degrees.

Today is likely to be the hottest day of the year so far! We’ll be close to tying our record high this afternoon. At CAE, today’s record high is 94 degrees, which was set back in 2017.

The weekend will start out similar as we track a weak cold front into the Carolinas. After another cloudy start, skies partially clear for Saturday afternoon. A thunderstorm or two can’t be ruled out in the afternoon and evening as this boundary passes by, but most of us will stay dry. High temperatures will top out around 90 degrees.

This cold front will knock temperatures back a few degrees for Sunday, but that’s about it. We’ll stay hot and humid with a slight chance of a thunderstorm or two into the start of next week. High temperatures will be hovering near or above 90 degrees until the middle of next week.
