A traveler from New Mexico allegedly stole Starbucks coffee and breakfast food during a pit stop at a convenience store along Interstate 75 in Sumter County. Shane Gipson, 50, of Moriarty New Mexico stopped Tuesday morning at the Love’s Travel Center in Bushnell and headed for the back cooler area where he selected two Starbucks 15-ounce double-shot energy coffees and headed for the men’s room, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. He was in the restroom for about 20 minutes and both cans were in his pockets when he came out. Gipson went to the breakfast area where he selected a breakfast bowl and a grilled steak breakfast taco. He headed for the exit, but was stopped by the store manager, who asked to see a receipt. Gipson exited the store and headed for a red semi in the parking lot. He was arrested on a charge of theft and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $150.
