If you're searching for the fountain of youth, it hasn't been found yet, but according to scientists there is potential that a new drug could extend human life expectancy.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the average female lives to be 81 and the average male lives to be 76 in the U.S. Elysium Health might be changing what we knew of human life expectancy once and for all.Discovering pharmaceuticals that can restore certain physiological functions that dissipate over time has been a competition among many renowned scientists. Elysium Health is the best-known company so far in this race. Founded by a well known MIT scientist and supported by six Nobel Prize winning scientists, they could have possibly changed the game forever, literally.
Their product is a daily dose of pills called Basis. These pills have a large amount of naturally occurring compounds and antioxidants that are connected with longevity. They claim that it can restore muscle tissue, increase energy, and improve brain health. The FDA doesn't recognize aging as a disease and Elysium Health isn't claiming their product to be an anti-aging drug, so the FDA doesn't need to evaluate it AND a prescription is not needed for their product. Since the drug is fairly new, there haven't been trials long enough to see how effective the pills are. Only time will tell if this will help extend human life expectancy and stop aging. Whether you believe this or not, it must be attainable if some of the top scientists in the world are putting their name on these projects. Check out the video explaining Elysium Health below!

If Elysium Health's drug proves successful, would you want the average life expectancy to be 100? Or do you think an average life span of 80 years should stay the average? Let us know in the comments!
