As we continue to roll toward the NFL Draft, the Times-Union is taking another look at a high profile draft pick. After a hectic start to the offseason that included searches for a new head coach and general manager, the Jacksonville Jaguars now will turn their attention to the NFL Draft. Currently slated to pick No. 5 overall, they'll likely have to see how the board falls before zeroing in on a prospect. Liam Coen and James Gladstone , along with the rest of Jacksonville's brain trust, will continue to scout and evaluate prospects in the wake of last week's NFL Combine. The Combine gave team's their first look at many prospects and the chance to talk with several players. One of those players didn't get a chance to workout on the field, but the Jaguars will surely be interested if he's around when they're on the clock. Medical test at the Combine revealed that Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter had a stress reaction in his right foot. It sidelined him last week, but he reportedly intends to do a full workout during the Nittany Lions Pro Day on March 28. The 6-foot-3, 259 pound edge rusher had eye-popping stats during his three years in college. Carter recorded 172 tackles, with 41 for a loss, 23 sacks, 13 pass deflections, five forced fumbles and an interception in three seasons. He has the talent to be the first player taken in April, but will his recent injury derail that for him? Let’s take a look at more information about Carter.
