The NFL playoffs are here today, and for the past few seasons, that's included the
Miami Dolphins . Things are a little different in 2025, though. The Dolphins played their final two games without star quarterback
Tua Tagovailoa , and despite defying the odds to stay alive after a shaky start, they came one game short of the postseason. The disappointing season also ended with dynamic receiver
Tyreek Hill indicating he was
done with Miami , telling reporters
"I'm out, bro" after their Week 18 game. He later
met with coach Mike McDaniel and general manager Chris Grier to clear the air, and both said he did not ask to be traded. Hill's agent,
Drew Rosenhaus, had conflicting messages about the situation on Thursday's "Pat McAfee Show."
Are the Dolphins in the playoffs?
Sadly, no.
The Dolphins missed the NFL playoffs after losing their regular-season finale last week
to the New York Jets , who finished just 5-12. The loss didn't end up mattering, as the Dolphins were eliminated when the
Denver Broncos pounded the Kansas City Chiefs (playing mostly backups and resting Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce for the playoffs) to clinch the AFC's final wild-card spot. Miami went 8-9 in the 2024 season, finishing second in the AFC East and missing the postseason for the first time in three seasons under McDaniel. Team owner Stephen Ross said McDaniel and Grier would be back next season to right the ship, though they're expected to invest heavily in a
backup quarterback for Tagovailoa.
We don't know the complete Dolphins schedule for the 2025 NFL season yet. That will be released some time in May after the NFL Draft. But we do know
what teams the Dolphins will play : their usual AFC East rivals, the teams in the AFC North and NFC South, and the teams that finished second in the AFC South, AFC West and NFC East. The Dolphins currently have seven picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, starting with the No. 13 pick in the first round. They could have three more compensatory picks, running their potential total of draft picks up to 10.

The 2025 NFL Draft is set to begin Thursday, April 24 and conclude Saturday, April 26. The draft will take place in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

When is Super Bowl 2025?
Super Bowl LIX (that's 59 for those unfamiliar with Roman numerals). The NFL's championship game is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET Sunday, Feb. 9. It will be played at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
