FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Lamar Jackson is an NFL superstar that’s been trying to keep this court battle a secret. In a court filing, Jackson, of the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens and a South Florida resident, is battling the mother of his child over the girl’s care. “Since the child’s birth, the Mother has exhibited extreme, unjustified animosity toward the Father, refusing to inform him of the child’s birth and denying him any contact for four (4) years.” “The Parties ceased communication years ago after the Mother’s final message to the Father was a threat of physical violence.” Jackson is asking for court intervention, requiring the mother to permit Jackson to participate in the child’s life. The court filing also claims that: “At a recent emergency hearing, the Mother had a public and uncontrollable outburst, yelling at the presiding Judge and declaring, “You don’t know what you’re doing!” The filing alleges the mother has “openly defied the Court’s clear orders granting the Father timesharing and telephone contact…Jackson is demanding that the mother get a mental health investigation.” His attorneys claim his 4-year-old “has not been potty trained, and is not in school, which raises genuine concerns about the Mother’s attentiveness to the child’s basic developmental needs and milestones. The Mother’s longstanding hostility, unstable conduct in and out of Court, disregard for the child’s developmental needs, and persistent obstruction of the Father’s parental rights collectively constitute unpredictable, unstable, and potentially harmful behavior that places the child’s welfare at risk.”
