BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Justin Lamkin tossed seven innings of one-run baseball as No. 14 Texas A&M rolled past New Mexico State 7-1 Saturday afternoon at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.

With the win, the Aggies (9-5) secured their third series victory of the season.

Lamkin earned the win after striking out 10 in seven innings of work. The left-hander did not yield a walk on the afternoon, marking the second straight outing he accomplished the feat.

Offensively, Kaeden Kent stayed hot at the plate as the junior doubled, tripled and drove in a game-best three RBI in a 2-for-5 effort at the dish. Sawyer Farr, Jacob Galloway and Terrence Kiel II also logged multi-hit performances in the win.

In the third, Kent put the Aggies on the board with an RBI triple to right center that plated Farr, who reached on a one-out single. Kent later scored on a sacrifice fly from Jace LaViolette as the lead stretched to 2-0.

The Maroon & White tacked on four more runs in the fourth to extend their advantage to 6-0. After leading off the frame with a double, Gavin Kash later came around to score on a wild pitch. Galloway plated the second run of the frame in Kiel, who reached on an infield single, with an RBI single through the right side. Kent capped off the frame with a two-run, two-out double to right center.

After New Mexico State (7-7) broke through on the scoreboard in the sixth with an RBI single, LaViolette answered for Texas A&M in the bottom half with an RBI double off the wall in right.

In relief, Luke Jackson fired a scoreless eighth and ninth to seal the 7-1 victory.

Up Next The Aggies will look to complete the three-game sweep of New Mexico State on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Blue Bell Park.
