No. 7 Florida State softball (42-7, 16-2) may have won the series, but Sunday's game belonged to Louisville (24-23, 7-12). The Cardinals broke FSU's eight-game winning streak in a 2-0 shutout. Similar to game two, it was a defensive game. The Seminoles had four hits and two errors, while Louisville had three hits. The Cardinals were on the board in the bottom of the first on a bunt play that led to a fielder's choice. Louisville added another run in the fourth inning on a fielding error at first base, resulting in an unearned run. Pitcher Makenna Reid lasted two innings in her start and finished with two strikeouts. Ashtyn Danley relieved Reid and played through four innings, leading with five strikeouts. Reid was the losing pitcher at 4-2. The Seminoles had chances to put points on the board, but the Cardinals kept them stranded, and the defense made enough plays to keep the Seminoles scoreless the whole game. Kennedy Harp, Michaela Edenfield, Katie Dack and Shelby McKenzie each had a hit.
