No. 9 Florida State softball (44-8, 18-3) won the series, but No. 15 Virginia Tech (40-10, 18-6) was the victor on Sunday as the Seminoles fell to the Hokies 8-6 in the ACC series finale. FSU finished the regular season. At first, FSU was off to a fast start, led by Isa Torres after she solo homered in the opening inning. She then followed up with an RBI single after Angelee Bueno hit one to give the Seminoles a 3-0 lead. Torres led the Seminoles with three hits and four RBI. After leading 3-0, Virginia Tech fought back with a home run in the bottom of the second and third innings by Bre Pack and Cori McMillan. As the game tied at four, VA Tech took a three-run lead after back-to-back home runs by McMillan and Zoe Yeager. FSU responded with a two-run score following Torres' RBI single to cut the Hokies' lead to one. Yeager added one more run to extend the lead to two at the bottom of the sixth and clinched the game in the top of the seventh. VA Tech's closer Emma Lemley earned the save after striking out Amaya Ross. Head coach Lonni Alameda relied on four different pitchers. Julia Apsel started in the circle. She led with five strikeouts in three innings, allowing two hits and three runs. Annabelle Widra relieved Apsel for 4.1 innings. Jazzy Francik, coming off a no-hitter on Saturday, lasted one inning, and Ashtyn Danley was the fourth pitcher. Widra was the losing pitcher. She is now 9-3.
