WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Kansas Highway Patrol said a 69-year-old Wamego man died following a crash Wednesday afternoon. The crash happened in Wabauness County on Kansas Highway 99 around 1:30 p.m. The KHP says a Chevy Silverado was traveling south on K-99, and a Honda CR-V was traveling north on K-99. The Silverado went left of center and collided with the Honda. The driver of the CR-V, John W. Long, was taken to Wamego Health Center, where he died. The driver of the Silverado, a 20-year-old Manhattan man, was seriously injured and taken to Stormont Vail in Topeka.
