STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Two people were stabbed in Rosebank Friday afternoon, prompting a large NYPD presence in the area.

Two individuals were stabbed in an attack that occurred in the vicinity of Bay Street and Virginia Avenue, according to preliminary information from an NYPD spokesperson.

One victim was stabbed in the chest, and the other in the torso.

They were taken to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze. The NYPD was not immediately able to provide the condition of the patients.

Police roped off Kaltenmeier Playground, located at Virginia Avenue and Anderson Street, as they investigated the stabbings.

The playground was roped off with yellow caution tape and orange cones could be seen on the ground.
