Maryland families planning Ocean City vacations need to be aware of new rules for short-term rentals. The new rules approved earlier in March apply to homes in R-1 and MH districts this and next year. Visitors who book a rental in these districts must stay for a minimum of five days. The Town Council said imposing this order will limit disturbances in these neighborhoods. The town plans to extend the restrictions on Jan. 1, 2027, when visitors will only be able to book these homes for at least a 31-night stay.
