Just when North Texans thought it was safe to park the parkas, the National Weather Service inserted a four-letter word into the forecast: snow. In a week in which Mother Nature is showing off a full array of tricks, the possibility of snow is predicted for Saturday in North Texas. The forecast calls before a slight chance of rain and snow showers before noon on Saturday, however the likelihood of snow accumulation is slim. NWS predicts a low of 40 early Saturday and a high of 55 later in the day. That’s nothing close to freezing. Also, forecasts are known to change as days go by. The weather service was dead on when it predicted rain and storms overnight Monday. A line of thunderstorms rattled through Wichita Falls after 2 a.m., dumping a half inch of much appreciated rain on the area. That was forecast to be followed by southwesterly winds gusting up to 55 mph on Tuesday. The weather service placed Wichita Falls and parts of North Texas under a high wind warning until midnight Tuesday. Daytime highs are predicted to gradually increase from a high of 63 on Tuesday to 71 degrees on Friday — before the snow comes.
