May 25—Albuquerque Police are investigating the death of a one-year-old child, the department said in a release Sunday evening.

Officers responded to the city's Southwest side around 5:30 p.m. after receiving calls about a child left in a car.

The officers who responded attempted "life-saving measures" but were not successful. The department has yet to release further details and says the investigation is ongoing.

The National Weather Service said the temperature reached 84 degrees at 4 p.m. Sunday in Albuquerque.
