Inova Fairfax opens its much-anticipated children's emergency room Tuesday morning.

7News Health and Wellness Reporter Victoria Sanchez toured the new facility off Gallows and Blue Roads which features a kid-friendly lobby, the latest medical equipment and large hospital rooms.

Up until now, the adults and pediatrics shared an emergency room entrance.

“We finally have a separate emergency room entrance to support the children in our community," said Clinical Director Shayna Dixon.
