A traffic crash in Orlando left one dead and one injured on Friday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on Silver Star Road and North Pine Hills Road in Orlando at 7:10 p.m.

Troopers say a 2009 Chevy Traverse was traveling eastbound on Silver Star Road west of North Pine Hills Road in the inside lane when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who walked into the eastbound lanes in the direct path of the vehicle.

A 54-year-old Apopka man was injured and still on the scene, and another man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to troopers.

Roads are blocked for the eastbound lanes on Silver Star Road.

The crash remains under investigation.
