Oregon State men’s basketball is adding another guard to the mix for next season via the transfer portal.

The Beavers secured the commitment of Missouri State transfer guard Dez White on Friday. White, a sophomore, averaged 14 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game last season for the Bears.

White played his freshman season at Austin Peay, averaging 7.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. In the process, he set a freshman record at Austin Peay for three-pointers made with 63.

Originally from Jefferson City, Missouri, the 6-2 White was a three-star recruit out of high school according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

The addition of White helps solidify the backcourt for the Beavers, who brought in transfer guard Malcolm Christie from Oakland on Thursday. OSU previously lost seven scholarship players including all five starters to the portal.
