She was joined in marriage to Robert Davenport in 1962, to this union five children were born. They later divorced. Irene later married H. Dale Hendrickson on June 26, 1989, in Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2012. Her most important job was being Mom and Grandmother. She did work for over 20 years at the Osage Senior Center and retired in 2008. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and puzzles. She made baby blankets for all grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Irene is survived by her daughter, Julie (Dean) Bevitt of Burlingame; four sons, Jim (Dee) Davenport and Roy (Lori) Davenport, both of Osage City, John (Carolyn) Davenport of Temple, Texas, and Russell (Kristi) Davenport of Osage City; a step-daughter, Michelle (Jerry) Bailey of Osage City; a brother, Jack Fagan of Emporia; three sisters, Berna Meek of Lenexa, Kansas, Judy (Armand) Corpolongo of Topeka, Marian Pannone of Topeka; a brother-in-law, Jim Conrad of Topeka; a sister-in-law, Delores Stenfors of Salina; thirteen grandchildren, Stephanie Kerns, Cody Mayfield, Sam Davenport, Marc Davenport, Danielle Hallgren, Joel Bevitt, Katelyn Baker, Shawna Taylor, Nathaniel Davenport, Lorenza Davenport, Emily Horn, Laci Van Hauen, and Lynsey Davenport, and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two sisters, Marge Staab and Liz Conrad. Cremation is planned and a service will be held at a later date.
