The first notable winter storm of 2025 is expected to hit Illinois this morning, with as much as 8 inches of snow expected in the Peoria area.

The winter storm warning started at 6 a.m. Wednesday and ends 3 a.m. Thursday for most of central Illinois. Morning and evening commutes are expected to be hazardous.

Bradley University and Illinois Central College will have a remote learning days on Wednesday, the schools announced Tuesday night. All classes are virtual and the campuses are closed.

Bradley also announced its employees should "move to remote work," asking students and employees to check their email for more information.

Peoria was expected to apply liquid pretreatment to overpasses and hills overnight Tuesday, according to a release from the city.
