HOUSTON – There was a post on social media focused on Houston being the new hot spot for spring break weekend. The Instagram post on @Spiritualword was of a tweet made by X user @rob49up, stating, “Miami NOT spring break no more!!! ITS HOUSTON.” The blog’s post about Houston received over 1,800 comments and the original tweet received over 32,000 likes, 2.2. million views, and 3,300 reposts. The conversation follows after it was announced that Miami Beach broke up with spring break in 2024. City leaders will continue to enhanced security measures for practically the entire month of March, including parking restrictions and increased fees for nonresidents, according to the Associated Press. The new rules were introduced last year after three consecutive years of spring break violence . The city is again warning visitors to expect curfews, bag searches at the beach, early beach closures, DUI checkpoints and arrests for drug possession and violence. Houstonians were trying to convince others to choose a different destination instead of adding to our already packed city! What are some things out-of-towners could do in Houston during Spring Break?
