More than 50 officers from Avon and Somerset Police were involved with executing search warrants at two properties at Fairfax Road and Westonzoyland Road.

The warrant was secured under Section 8 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act of 1984, which allows police to enter premises and search for evidence related to an indictable offence.

Three people were arrested at the Fairfax Road property; the front door of the house was sawn to gain entry at just after 6am.

The operation, which took months to prepare for, was overseen by Police Sergeant, Craig Davies.

He said: "Today’s operation has targeted a number of addresses in Bridgwater, Glastonbury and in Devon. It’s taken a few months to plan. There’s in excess of 50 officers involved.”

“So far, four people have been arrested from the addresses in Bridgwater. The searches are ongoing in Glastonbury and Devon as we speak.”

“We want to assure people that anti-social behaviour is something that we are taking seriously. Certainly, this sort of operation today – targeting properties that really impact local communities – is something that we are looking at. Something that we are looking to take robust action on.”

“Please be reassured that we are taking action.”
