ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police responded to reports of a shooting at 6:45 p.m. Thursday in the 9300 block of Academy Hills Dr. NE and discovered an adult male with a fatal gunshot wound.

Homicide detectives have detained one person as they investigate what led up to the shooting near the intersection of Academy Rd and Layton Ave.
