SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A 20-year-old man from Springfield was arrested on Wednesday after reportedly attempting to rob a gas station off of Main St.

According to the Springfield Police Department (SPD), 9-1-1 dispatch received report of an attempted robbery around 11:23 p.m., April 30.

The caller told 9-1-1 that the suspect demanded all of the money from the cash register.

Officers arrived on scene with in minutes, said SPD, and surrounded the store before taking the suspect, identified as Kristopher Wallgren, into custody.

Police confirmed that Wallgren was not able to get any cash.

Wallgren was lodged at the Lane County Jail for Robbery for Robbery in the Second Degree.
