FENTON — Police now believe that the woman whose body was discovered weeks after a fatal car crash near Fenton wasn't being chased or run off the road by another driver.St. Louis County police Sgt. Tracy Panus said video shows that the victim, Nicole Jung, had been driving at high speeds Feb. 28 when her car left the road and crashed.Last Thursday afternoon, her body was discovered in the 300 block of South Old Highway 141. Jung, 45, of St. Louis, had been missing for three weeks. She was found dead in a wooded area just off the road. Police originally said the death was considered suspicious. They were considering all possibilities, including that she suffered a medical emergency or was run off the road. But camera footage in the area has shown police that it was a single-vehicle crash with no one else involved."There is nothing nefarious" about the crash, Panus said Monday. "Nothing criminal."Jung's injuries are consistent with a car wreck, but authorities have not disclosed a cause of death as they await results of toxicology tests. Jung lived in the 4300 block of Tholozan Avenue in the Tower Grove South neighborhood of St. Louis.Post-Dispatch photographers capture hundreds of images each week; here are just some photos from February 2025.
