President Donald Trump declared a national emergency on Friday, enabling the release of additional funds to combat COVID–19 (coronavirus).

As expected on Friday, March 13, President Donald Trump declared a national emergency on the United States and also invoked the Stafford Act. The national emergency declaration allows for more resources in the form of authorities, while the Stafford Act gives access to more funding. All of this is being done in order to combat the spread and effects of the coronavirus.

The actions, according to Trump, will "unleash the full power of the federal government."

What do you think? Will the national emergency status and the Stafford Act provide real help in fighting the pandemic? Tell us in the comments!
