A Queens surfer died after he was carried out of the ocean by good Samaritans at the beach in Jacob Riis Park in the Rockaways, the Daily News has learned.

Police responding to a 911 call about 12:40 p.m. Saturday found the 35-year-old victim unresponsive on the beach, officials said.

Robert Conti, 58, told The News his 18-year-old son, Owen Conti — a New York City Parks Department summer lifeguard in the Rockaways —and a former lifeguard happened to be chatting on the beach when they spotted a surfer’s board in the water sticking up in the air.

The pair ran to get the victim out of the water and began providing CPR, Robert Conti said.

The elder Conti was alerted to the emergency by his son and raced to the beach.

“What they saw from the shoreline was the board sticking straight up in the air and the board wouldn’t do that unless it was hung up,” Robert Conti said.

Owen Conti and the former lifeguard provided CPR to the victim before EMS arrived, Robert Conti said.

“I got there probably a few minutes after they started the CPR and they rolled him over a couple of times on his side and their was a lot of fluid coming out of his mouth,” Robert Conti said. “It was upsetting to see.”

Medics transported the victim to Coney Island Hospital where he died later that day, police said. His name was not immediately released.

The official cause of death will be determined after an autopsy by the Medical Examiner’s office.

Jacob Riis Park, which is managed by the National Park Service, is open daily but does not have lifeguards on duty until Memorial Day.

On June 21, teens Elyjha Chandler and Christian Perkins accidentally drowned in the surf at Jacob Riis Park.

Police found 16-year-old Elyjha’s body off Beach 114th St. on June 29. The body of 17-year-old Christian washed up the next day about two miles from where they drowned. They boys were childhood friends.
