JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After a quick pause in storm activity tonight, rain is expected to return with more rounds popping up through the week. Southern Georgia and the Brunswick area, in particular, are forecast to see showers beyond the setting sun tonight. Most areas will stay dry through the night. Tuesday afternoon brings a 40% chance of scattered showers, mainly to areas south of Jax during the day followed by evening storms from Duval and into Georgia by the evening. On Wednesday, Jacksonville stays in a westerly steering flow, which means any midweek showers that pop up should be widely scattered and may drift back toward the coast—especially for southern Georgia, where heavier rain totals are expected.
