WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Halloween arrives in Kansas early again this year. The Paranormal Cirque II comes to Wichita next month for shows that aren't for kids.

The performances under the orange-striped "Clown Castle" promise to deliver surprises, scares and amusement to all who dare attend. Six shows at Towne East Square are scheduled for September 13-16, the circus' website says. You must be at least 17 years old to buy tickets. Children ages 13-17 may attend at the discretion of their parents or guardians.

"Wichita, our R-rated horror circus is back with thrilling new acts and a terrifying new haunt attraction preshow for 2024! Come experience the perfect night out for adults at Paranormal Cirque II," Paranormal Cirque said on Facebook.

The Paranormal Cirque features acrobats, illusionists, mysterious creatures and more. The show's R-rated is due do the use of adult language and material not intended for children.

"A new show with breathtaking implications always poised between fun and the most uninhibited fear that will transport you to a dark world inhabited by creatures with incredible circus art abilities."

When the Paranormal Cirque was in town last November, l ocal church members were outside Towne East Square to boycott the event, calling it a "glorification of evil."
