ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that an Alexandria man was arrested on February 26, following an investigation involving Alexandria Police Department and Rapides Area Drug Enforcement Agents (RADE).

RPSO said Courtney Holt Dixon, 44, of Alexandria was arrested on multiple drug and firearm charges. They said APD initially responded to a residence in the 3000 block of Dawkins Street after they received reports of a domestic disturbance.

While officers investigated inside the home, they noticed several jars with suspected marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms. Officers then contacted RADE agents to investigate the suspected illegal narcotics.

Authorities said one of the firearms had an illegal barrel, which is being investigated by an RPSO deputy assigned to their Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms task force.

He was reportedly booked into Rapides Parish Detention Center, but was later released on a $13,000 bond.

An investigation is ongoing.
