O'Connell returned to practice on Monday for the first time since he was placed on IR following a right thumb fracture in Week 7.

Jones cleared waivers on Monday after he was released on Friday in the middle of his sixth season with the Giants.

After losing the starting battle to Minshew at the start of the 2024 season, O'Connell had made two straight starts before his hand injury. If O'Connell can return on Thursday, he could potentially retake the QB1 role for the rest of the season. If not, the Raiders may turn to the open market to add some depth under center.
