GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) -Rain may have rolled in this Father’s Day, but it didn’t put a damper on the celebrations.

Families across North Central Florida found fun ways to make the most of the day, whether it involved moving the barbecue under a tent, heading to the movies, or simply enjoying some time indoors. Many fathers shared their thoughts on what makes this day special.

Emmanuel Rodriguez, a proud father, said, “I love seeing her develop and grow, applying the lessons we’ve taught her and observing the positive changes. That’s my favorite part, witnessing that transformation.”

He continued, “It’s rewarding to see the fruits of your labor; as I watch my daughter grow up, I see how our teachings resonate with her. It’s incredible to help her mature and support her journey.”

For many families, the focus was clear; it wasn’t about the weather, it was about creating memories and celebrating the dads who play such a big role in their lives.
