A few showers and thunderstorms will be possible Sunday afternoon and evening over far southern Kansas. Wichita could see some light rain during the evening, but it will not amount to very much. Temperatures will be mild during the afternoon on Sunday with highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Southeast winds will gust up to 30 miles per hour statewide. Another storm system will move through Kansas for the start of the week, bringing a chance of thunderstorms to south central and eastern Kansas late Monday night. More rain showers will be possible Tuesday afternoon over central and eastern Kansas. Northwest Kansas could have a mix of rain and snow at times during the day Tuesday. Very strong northwest winds are expected with this system from Tuesday through Wednesday. Winds will gust as high as 40 to 55 miles per hour at times, especially from late Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night. Rain and snow will end late Tuesday night, then mild weather will continue for the rest of the week ahead with highs in the 50s.
