The Full Stocking Belgian IPA is flowing all over town, and this "hoppy" holiday beverage − a collaboration between Alliance Brewing Company and News Sentinel Charities Empty Stocking Fund − will be the anchor for a fun-filled party at Southside Garage on Dec. 3, curated to get folks in the giving (and winning) spirit.

Tuesdays are trivia nights at Southside Garage, located at 1014 Sevier Ave., and Knox Trivia Guys will be on hand testing the knowledge of you and your teammates. Knox News journalists also will be on hand, participating in the game and chatting with players about our work, the Empty Stocking Fund and how to be entered in our giveaway.

QR codes will be on hand at Southside and participating businesses to instruct you how to donate in a way that ensures you are entered in the drawing. A cash box also will be on hand during the Southside event.

Let us know you are coming with an RSVP to our Facebook event.

Trivia winners also earn a gift card to Southside, which hosts Knox Trivia Guys every Tuesday.

Kegs of the Full Stocking Belgian IPA have been delivered to Cool Beans, Preservation Pub, Redbud Kitchen, Scruffy City Hall, SoKno Taco, South Coast Pizza, Southside Garage, Tommy Trent's and Trailhead Beer Market.

Full Stocking isn't your traditional IPA, head brewer and co-owner Adam Ingle told Knox News. The brewing process for a Belgian IPA brings out notes of "candi sugar" and fruit. It's different, but approachable, and has proven to be a popular style for Alliance over the years.

"We brewed it for the last time five years ago for one of our assistant brewer's weddings because we went to more of a lager program and got our bigger system," Alliance co-owner Chris Morton said. "Then the CMS IPA became popular, and the style of Belgian IPA succumbed to the success of New England IPAs, the hazys, the juicys.

"So, the whole Belgian thing kind of fell off popularity-wise, but we still had people coming in asking for it."

Now that it's back, you should drink it while you can. The beer already is proving to be a popular choice at Alliance, and supplies are limited.

Businesses carrying the beer are being asked to donate whatever amount they can contribute to Empty Stocking Fund, and we are asking East Tennesseans to do the same.

Every dollar donated goes to the effort since we are 100% volunteer-run, year-round. The Knoxville-Knox County CAC determines the recipients, and hundreds of volunteers come together each December for our Distribution Week.

Tax-deductible donations made now will help us buy high-quality food including hams and fresh produce for the baskets. Learn more and make a contribution at esfknox.org , or send checks to 2332 News Sentinel Drive, Knoxville TN 37921.

Leave a message of "Full Stocking" with your donation if giving was inspired by the beer campaign.
