Better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.

If you're a pie lover, Thanksgiving is probably your holiday. Are you already dreaming of the pumpkin, pecan, apple, buttermilk, and meringue pies? Those crimped crusts with lattice tops? Those cute little stick-and-poke drawings of apples and cherries? Well, Reese's hears you—but so, unfortunately, did 3,000 other people.

No sooner had the company announced their version of a Thanksgiving pie than it began flying off the shelves (okay, their website). The novelty pie, Reese's biggest peanut butter cup yet, clocked in at 9 inches across and 3.4 pounds. It sold for $44.99 and was always intended to be limited edition, with only 3,000 being made. Unsurprisingly, it sold out in less than an hour—'tis the season to be sad.

Still, there are other ways to get your newfound Reese's craving treated this Thanksgiving. Stack regular Reese's in a tower, snag seven of these 1/2 pound cups, or make this recipe inspired by the sold-out pie.

Or maybe denial is the best balm for your sorrow? If you want to just pretend it never happened, and not spend Thanksgiving crushed by FOMO of the Reese's pie experience, here are some non-Reese's pie recipes. (Just skip past all the chocolate and peanut butter recipes if you need to.)

After all, Thanksgiving is about being grateful for what we have, and not what we don't, so think about all the pie you can have.

Are you already dreaming of the pumpkin, pecan, apple, buttermilk, and meringue pies? Those crimped crusts with lattice tops? Those cute little stick-and-poke drawings of apples and cherries? Good. Forget about R**s*'s. Enjoy your pies.

We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Let us know how you'll deal with the loss of the -REDACTED- pie in the comments!
