Staff and volunteers with the Rhode Island Parrot Rescue unveiled their new rescue facility in the heart of West Warwick on Saturday.

It is 8 times the size of their previous facility on West Shore Road in Warwick.

On Saturday members of the public were able to tour various adoption rooms, a brand new boarding center, and community outreach spaces all within the new building.

And still with plenty of room to grow, sanctuary staff say most importantly the new space will allow them to meet the growing capacity needs for bird rescues throughout Southern New England.

Saturday’s opening day celebration marks a project years in the making.

Relying solely on community donations, they say, their new home is a product of love, dedication, and community confidence in their commitment to providing birds in need a safe place to land.
