RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Richland County Coroner’s Office says with the public’s help they were able to identify the body found on I-77 near exit 12. According to the coroner’s office, they were able to match the DNA of Terrance Wheeler to family in Columbia. The coroner’s office thanks the public for the help. Additionally, the coroner’s office thanks the Richland County Sheriff’s Department for use of their DNA lab that conducted confirmed match. Richland County Coroner’s Office is working with the SC Highway Patrol, Columbia Police Department and the missing persons unit to investigate the case. Original Story (Posted: Feb. 19, 2025 ):
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Richland County Coroner’s Office is requesting the community’s help identifying an unknown male who was found deceased on Friday, February 14. Officials say the individual was found on I-77 at the Forest Drive exit. The person is described as African American, around 6 feet tall, weighs around 250 lbs., with black shoulder length dreadlocks. The coroner’s office says he was wearing a dark-colored jacket and pants with blue and white Air Jordan sneakers.
