See what's in store for the the third annual Richmond Brunch Weekend, March 24–25!

They say that brunch is always a good idea, and during Richmond Brunch Weekend, you can pair what is already a good idea with an even better cause. Hosted by As Told Over Brunch, a Richmond-based blog, and VCU's Massey Alliance, Richmond Brunch Weekend (March 24–25) is raising money to support cancer research at VCU Massey Cancer Center. If you dine at any of the participating restaurants on these dates, 15 percent of proceeds will benefit Massey Cancer Center. On top of this, many participating restaurants are raising even more money by selling "Massey Mimosas" during the month of March. One dollar from every one of these special mimosas goes directly to Massey Cancer Center, giving us even more reason to go out and treat ourselves! Better yet, if you post a photo of your drink with the hashtag #MasseyMimosa to Instagram, you'll be entered to win an assortment of prizes. Figuring out where to brunch might feel a bit overwhelming, and while it would be ideal to go to every restaurant, you can only choose a few. So choose wisely and check out some of our favorite brunch spots!
City Diner
[caption id="attachment_6875" align="aligncenter" width="650"] Photo courtesy of https://www.thedailymeal.com[/caption] Claiming to be "the Cheers bar of breakfast spots," City Diner is the most down-home place in town for a good brunch. If you're in the mood for a classic diner experience that won't put too much strain on your wallet, this is the place to go. You can easily get a good meal for under $8.
Lunch.SUPPER!

This classically southern restaurant, known for its smoked meats and locally grown produce, is best if you're in the mood for innovative versions of well-known comfort foods. Moderately priced, expect to pay between $10-$12 for your brunch.
Weezie's
[caption id="attachment_6871" align="aligncenter" width="650"] Image courtesy of https://trinkin.com/[/caption] This Carytown favorite has always been known for serving up some quality breakfast and brunch, so if you haven't gotten around to trying it out, now is the perfect time! Weezie's even has a brunch cocktail menu, with creative refreshments such as the Real Men Wear Pink (vodka, campari, orange juice, sparkling wine), and is one of the participating restaurants that has the Massey Mimosa on the menu.
Village Cafe
[caption id="attachment_6872" align="aligncenter" width="685"] Photo courtesy of http://naokoeats.com/east-coast-roadtrip-the-village-cafe/[/caption] As one of Richmond's oldest restaurants, the Village Cafe has been feeding the downtown and VCU area since 1956. Not only is it a great spot for VCU students needing a cure for that morning-after hangover, but it's also arguably the best place for all-day breakfast. With huge portions, an impressive menu selection, and nearly 30 milkshake flavors to choose from (or really, an endless amount of choices since they let you combine flavors), there is a reason that Village Cafe has been around for so long. This is definitely worth a stop for Richmond Brunch Weekend.   So support a good cause while getting your brunch on!
