Upon arrival, deputies found the victim and attempted to provide emergency aid until fire department personnel arrived to take over. The unidentified person, despite the first responders' efforts, was declared dead at the scene, leaving a community grappling with loss and the specter of violence. In the wake of the incident, an investigation quickly unfolded, resulting in the arrest of a suspect. Identified by the Sheriff’s Office detectives, 61-year-old Terri James of Richmond was later booked on murder charges and is currently being held at the Martinez Detention Facility with bail set at $1 million.
