If Richmond Heights residents listen closely, they might hear some tunes being played as the city kicks off their Summer Concert Series. Held in the Richmond Heights Community Park from 6:30 on 8:30 p.m. every Wednesday until Aug. 6, the concert series will be kicking off June 18 with the band “Rock the House Live”, who describe their music as a mix of Top 40’s, Motown, Rock and Pop. City Recreation Director Cameron Campbell said that he wanted to have a range of bands come and perform for the series and that, while he was happy to play host to all the bands this year, he was particularly excited about Nick Costa, who plays on July 2. “We try and stick with the Hip Hop, R&B and Rock, so this kind of switches it up this year so we are really interested to see where that goes.” Richmond Heights isn’t the only city in the region that has summer concerts starting up, as the city is part of the “Hillcrest Summer Concert Series” that includes Mayfield Village, South Euclid, Highland Heights, Mayfield Heights and Lyndhurst. Campbell said having these types of summer concerts is a good opportunity to show what kind of talent might be hidden away in the suburbs. “I guess, it’s just more so just a tradition that all these Hillcrest cities have done,” Campbell said. “There’s a lot of talent in North-east Ohio that people aren’t aware off and I think this is a chance for people to get a band together and let people see what they have, in terms of talent. “Personally, I never was a summer concertgoer, until I got this position three years ago, but I love it now.”
