One of the country's largest industrial auctions will take place this week to mark 30 years since Ritchie Bros started operating in Australia.

The live and online auction will feature more than 3800 lots of agricultural, earthmoving and transport equipment.

The global company operates as part of RB Global and last year recorded a total worldwide revenue of more than US$4.2 billion.

Ritchie Bros agricultural territory manager Gary Biggs, Geelong, Vic, said part of the company's success was its commitment to sell all items that went under the hammer.

"Anything that sells under our banner is unreserved, and that's good because it means everything is on the market," Mr Biggs said.

The live auction will take place at Geelong and be livestreamed across the country from Wednesday, June 18, to Friday, June 20.

"It will be the biggest auction in the history of Ritchie Bros within Australia," Mr Biggs said.

"It's our first live sale since the pandemic. We haven't had a live sale in Australia since COVID-19."

Agricultural machinery, including self-propelled sprayers, tractors, harvesters, balers and a range of trucks, prime movers and trailers, will be included in the auction.

Ritchie Bros was established by three brothers in British Columbia, Canada, in the 1950s and today has more than 60 permanent auction sites globally.

"Australia is an incredibly important part of our global network in terms of market activity, volume and demand," said RB Global chief executive Jim Kessler.

"Our 30-year milestone here reflects the scale and resilience of our local operations, the calibre of our local team and the strength of our relationships with our partners."
