The Nashville Predators lost 4-1 to the St. Louis Blues at Enterprise Center on Sunday.

Jordan Kyrou and Alexandre Texier scored in the first period to build a 2-0 lead for St. Louis, but Nashville countered with a power play goal by Filip Forsberg in the second period.

The Blues took a two-goal lead late in the third period when Justin Faulk finished off a 3-on-1, scoring his fourth goal of the season. Brayden Schenn added an empty-net goal to make it a 4-1 final.

Robert Thomas finished with three assists in the game.

The game featured several skirmishes, including a fight between Zach L'Heureux and Nathan Walker in the first period. In the third period, Michael McCarron and Nathan Walker were each given game 10-minute game misconducts for a post-whistle melee, and Zach Bolduc was given a 5-minute major for cross-checking Nick Blankenburg.

Jordan Binnington finished with 27 saves in the win for St. Louis. Justus Annunen made 14 saves in the loss for Nashville.

Nashville (26-36-8, 60 points) travels to play the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. St. Louis (37-28-7, 81 points) hosts the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.

Filip Forsberg now has four points in his last two games after scoring early in the second period.

On the power play, Forsberg stopped with the puck in the right circle, toe-dragged around defenseman Ryan Suter, and fired a wrist shot by Jordan Binnington to make it 2-1.

Just like on Saturday against the Maple Leafs, the Predators found themselves down 2-0 by the end of the first period.

Blues forwards Jordan Kyrou and Alexandre Texier each scored with Robert Thomas assisting on both goals. The Blues also outshot the Predators 9-7 in the first period, looking like the faster and more desperate team early on.

The end of the period was marred by a couple of roughing penalties on Alexey Toropchenko and Jonathan Marchessault, which sparked a brief melee on the ice. The Predators earned a power play after the incident, which will begin the second period.
