Earlier this month Lyft and CDOT launched the 320 Movement Project starting the countdown to 4/20
We are all aware of 4/20 - and a little less than a month from now cannabis connoisseurs will gather at Civic Center Park for the annual 4/20 Rally. Last week on March 20, CDOT and Lyft met to launch the 320 Movement Project: a safe solution to DUI concerns revolving around the event. Led by the slogan, "Plan a ride before you're high," the 320 Movement Project allows potential partakers to plan their 4/20 ride in advance. Lyft is offering discounted rides to encourage rally attendees to be safe and responsible during the events. The company has allotted 17 cars, branding them by painting them green with the aforementioned slogan on the side. According to CDOT spokesman Sam Cole, there are only 17 cars in the green fleet because in 2016, 17 percent of Colorado State Patrol DUI arrests involved marijuana.
The 320 Movement Project and the overall "Drive High..." initiative is an important aspect to marijuana legalization that should be addressed. While ride sharing apps are mainly used to get inebriated patrons home safely; with legislation moving toward marijuana clubs and "social consumption", the same need will grow in smokers. At the end of the day, it's undeniable that a safe-driving option is necessary and will be beneficial for all.
Will you be attending the 4/20 rally? Don't forget to get your discount code and get home safely!
