Santa Claus won’t be coming to (down)town this year. Or at least not Pioneer Place mall, the Portland shopping center that introduced Hipster Santa , with his man bun and “naughty” and “nice” arm tattoos, to adoring families in 2015.

A representative for the mall’s owner, Brookfield Properties, said Santa — neither the hipster version nor the more traditional character, apparently — drew enough interest from shoppers to keep going. Santa skipped Pioneer Place in 2023, too.
