This is great news for all high school juniors preparing to take the college exam, the SAT.  Colorado dumped the ACT and has welcomed the new and improved SAT. This spring 54,000 high school juniors will be tested with the new format. The state took into consideration all of the benefits each exam had to offer and then combined them into one.

This four hour exam now allows more time per question, and you can't be penalized for guessing. What you were always told about how it's better to guess is now finally true. Other changes include little to no Algebra II, and removal of the science section. Sal Khan, founder and president of Khan Academy states:

This SAT is frankly so much easier, so much closer to what students are seeing in their classes"
Many testing companies are adjusting to the new change and are ready to prepare students for their college entrance exam. Khan Academy has paired with College Board, the creators of the SAT, in making free SAT study courses for Colorado students. state dumps What is believed to be more relevant to the information that Colorado teens are learning in schools will now be put to the test. Colorado teens will be offered an abundance of studying materials through various testing programs at no cost. This change is only to benefit the students, and help to better prepare Colorado teens for their academic career change to the collegiate level.
