RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Crews in Raleigh are beginning their seasonal loose-leaf collection.

Starting Tuesday crews will be collecting leaves at residential areas in city limits.

From now through February they’re asking neighbors to rake and place their leaves on the curb so that they can be collected.

This year the service includes 12 zones. The city says on your designated day you can put your leaves out by the curb and crews will come pick them up.

They say make sure leaves are not in the street or on the sidewalk. Also, leaf piles should be free of any tree limbs, vines, rocks and other debris.

Also, make sure your piles aren’t in front of any parked vehicles, mailboxes or fire hydrants as trucks will not be able to pick them up.

Service begins Tuesday with Zone 5.
